Persist
by Bryan Inno Wong
Hi guys!.. Long time no update in this blog of mine.. Well, got really really busy these past few days and i just got back from an Island summer vacation from Isla Reta.. Anyway, it is really good to get back and face the computer once again - not to mention getting back and playing magic again.. wakekek..
I will feature another Shadowmoor ability added to the list of abilities that players should be able to master to play the game. Persist is a unique ability that once a creature/card with persist is put into a graveyard from play, if it did not have any -1/-1 counters on it as it left play, it will be returned to play under it's owners control with a -1/-1 counter on it. An example of this would be Safehold Elite.
This creature is a 2/2 creature with persist for a cost of 1 colorless mana and a hybrid green/whire mana..So this is a very good 2 to cast 2/2 and not only that it has persist!. If this creature dies, if it has no -1/-1 counters on it, it will be reanimated with a -1/-1 counter on it.. thus, making it 1/1 after it uses persist. Once it dies again, it the persist ability will not trigger since it has a -1/-1 counter already..
But imagine having an ability like this creature in play..

so everytime a creature you control triggers persist, you just remove the -1/-1 counter on it.. so it triggers again if it dies.. an endless march of creatures!!.. wahehehe.. and try imagining a creature like this in play with persist..

your opponents should start scratching their heads off...
