Building a Deck

Hello.. You can visit my naruto movie 4/naruto shippuuden movie - death of Naruto movie review in my Main Blog @ Common to Extraordinary Innovations

Enjoy!..

Tips In building an MTG deck!

Basically, a deck has a minimum of 60 cards for almost all formats. It can basically have 4 copies of a single card except for basic land cards. As we all know, there are five different colors for Magic: the Gathering and your strategy and deck build relies on the color combinations that you select. Mono-colored decks are the most easy to manage since you only have to worry about 1 color in your cards, and that you will have lesser lands in your deck and more space for your spells. The complexity of the game increases as you increase your colors from two colors to five colors but it can also increase your power and strategy.

A deck can have around 18 - 30 lands but the average number of lands that a deck has is usually 24.

It is also important to put creatures since they are the ones that attack your opponents for damages or they have special abilities that help you achieve your goal in the game. around 20 - 25 creatures is good to the deck.

You can also include other card types and spells in your deck according to your strategy. these other spells include Enchantments, Artifacts, Sorceries, Instants, Planeswalkers to add depth to your deck.

For more information, visit the game's website here.

Budget Standard Cards - Behind Curtains

For Naruto fans, I had my Movie Review in my Personal blog account.. Since this blog is dedicated to MTG.. hehe

Let me tell you that there are cards that are just hanging around that are always overlooked or just not used because it doesn't have decks in the internet (oh well, almost everybody now uses net decks)..

I recall the time when magic players rely on cards that they have or what their friends have and start to build decks around them. or the time when people search for good main and supporting cards to strengthen their strategies. Now, many players do not try to improve their deck construction skills anymore and rely on the decks in the internet (decks that other players built or suggested)..

i have nothing against net decks but i personally used them and found an empty hole every win.. Either because i chose this deck because it is the one having good ratings and wins worldwide (but now truly the deck that my heart beats for..)
As we rely on these, we may not be able to improve our skills in evaluating cards for our own preference.. let me tell you examples of cards that, for me, have been overlooked in standard.

PLAGUE SLIVER

Plague Sliver is a hell of a creature. this is Juzam Djinn Sliver for God's sake!.. It may not be as efficient when you have two of them in play (since you will pay 4 life instead of two life for the Djinn) but this creature is a bomb 5/5 for the cost of 4 mana and it is black!.. Imagine the strength of sliver decks in extended and vintage and One of this creature in play under your control can truly punish the sliver decks!

RIGHTEOUSNESS

Do I honestly need to explain this?? okay, for the cost of one mana, your kithkin can kill a wurm!! That's +7/+7 on your blocking creature! man this is one of the ultimate surprises that you can give your opponent!!

There are many many more cards that are overlooked so I suggest we should read our cards as we pick them in packs or see them in stores or albums. Evaluated their potential through your own judgment and share your ideas to others. It could open up a good debate.

Shadowmoor Sneak Peek

just one week to go before Shadowmoor, the 2nd block for the Lorwyn cycle, will be released into the market.

A couple of days ago, i joined the local MTG sneak peek tournament for shadowmoor. I did not have the experience of joining the pre-release tournament so i did not have any demigod of revenge foil card. But no need to be down because a better card is waiting to be picked out from the set. this card is the vexing shusher and this card is the release card for shadowmoor!

This is another RARE release card by wizards and this card is no crap rare!.. 2/2 creature for a cost of 2 mana, not only that, it's mana cost is hybrid mana!.. It cannot be countered and for the cost of one mana, it can make your other spells uncounterable! may arguably be the best goblin ever printed!.. WOW! this thing can really give blue players a hell of a headache! Bitterblossom? Wizards?.. get ready!

Well, my sneak peek performance is fair.. I did not really get a spot but I got a 2-2 record. at least, my ranking will not go down. But by the way i saw the cards last sunday, this block can really make a difference in the game. Just like the great Aurora that enveloped Lorwyn and transformed it into the dark Shadowmoor, the abilities like Wither, Conspire and Persist has a large impact in the gameplay indeed.. May be too powerful..

But for me, no need to worry.. i am a black player myself and the expansion is working out fine for me, if not working out real great. See you guys in the release tournament next week!

Enjoy SHADOWMOOR!
