The Return of the Comeback

After a few months of writing nothing but Magic: the Gathering in a domain that I bought. I reached a turning point in my life when I was doing well with MTG and finally reached 1700+ ratings. This was my target for this year, after several years of non-serious MTG play that got my ratings to my all time low. The next goal was to hopefully win nationals qualifiers tournaments to enter the Philippine Nationals 2011. But I got 6th place out of 60-70 participants (sadly, only the top 4 get an invitation to the Nationals).

After this, I realized that I am actually happy with this aspect of my life. And now I actually find myself wanting to get better in all the other aspects of my life.

Next up is excellence in life, social life, work and basketball!

Valakut Ramp in Cebu PT Qualifier Singapore 2011

I used Valakut in yesterday's event and sadly, I finished with a 2-3 standings. I felt kind of sad since it will again be a slash to my ratings but on the bright side, it has really been so long since I used a green deck and actually liked it. I have been influenced by Red, Black and Blue for so long and I really enjoyed playing Valakut. I am actually playing the deck until it rotates out of standard 7 months from now. Honestly, the deck was not bad, it was actually very strong. I admit, those losses were merely from poor piloting. I only play tested against BR vamps, Monored goblins and Blue-Red Control. But I felt good since the deck showed a lot of promise and I think with practice and playtesting, I think I can actually be successful using Green.

Action's Sword of War and Peace Wallpaper

So, mtg has released the art for the newest sword in the 3rd set of the scars of mirrodin block. It's name might be Sword of War and Peace. This sword completes the cycle of swords that started in the Mirrodin block a few years ago, so now we have 5 swords to collect namely: Sword of Fire and Ice, Sword of Light and Shadow, Sword of Body and Mind, Sword of Feast and Famine and this last sowrd, Sword of War and Peace. Although, at the moment, we only have the name of the new Sword, but surely, the ability would be very strong and of "Mythic" quality.
