My DCI Ratings as of April 19, 2010
by Bryan Inno Wong
Okay, the Magic Nationals 2010 is fast approaching and I really can't make it even after the June 2, 2010 cut-off date. Those who qualify for the Magic Nationals are, I think, the top 75 for each country for the "Total" ratings. Let me give you a picture of where I am right now.

I am currently rank 647 in the Philippines with a ratings of 1680. Although at least, being in page 33 out of 174 pages, and being rank 647 out of 3465 is not that bad. But I have to admit, lately, I have been ranking low in my sanctioned tournaments, save a few times, like finishing 1-3, 2-3 and 2-2 only. It's because I have been very busy with work the past year or so, and I come to the magic shop (when I have the time) with a deck that I haven't really practiced and mastered. It's like coming to war unprepared, so as a result, major drops in the ratings.
I opt to change things these following weeks, my first goal is to try to raise my total ratings to 1750 before the cut-off for Magic Nationals, but before I can do that, I have to give time to magic: the gathering again. Although I'm still not sure if I can devote as much time to magic again and raise my ratings again, my future in magic will be dictated by the results of the PhilNITS exam that I took last March 28. Of course, I love magic: the gathering. But passing the exam is everything to me right now.

Thank You Mr. Katol!
by Bryan Inno Wong
Last night was my first night here in the Hospital in Manolo Fortich. What should be a 5-6 hour trip became an 8-hour trip thanks to the driver of the aircon bus that I rode. The 4 - stop bus stopped in all terminals and bus stops and the driver even goes down to chat in every stop. He also drives very slowly, I wonder if he was sleepy. But finally, when we reached Malaybalay City to take our lunch, the man didn't drive slow any longer.
Anyway, I was staying at the staffhouse when my eyes were beginning to close. By then, it was still 8:30 in the evening. I closed the lights and tried to sleep. But time to time, I woke up feeling mosquito bites on my legs, arms and ears. So I just cover my body with my kumot. Then finally, I thought I am at peace already when I felt that I slept already. Then I woke up, I felt rested and happy. But then I scratched my right elbow, all along my right elbow was exposed when I slept as I got irritated. I grabbed my phone and was surprised that it was still 11:30 pm! I turned on the lights only to find out that I got at least 7 bites on my right elbow and some bites scattered scattered across my left and right arms.
That was it! Thank God I had some Baygon Coils with me, the purple one, the one with Floral Scent. I lighted the mosquito coil with vengeance!! But then again, I forgot to bring the coil stand. Huh! this is war and this won't stop me from getting a good night's rest. I piled up about ten 1 peso coins and balanced the lighted mosquito coil on top of the pile. About a few minutes later, I can smell the smoke of the mosquito coil spreading in the room. So I just covered my body with my kumot and went to sleep.

When I woke up, it was already morning. And I smiled. Thanks Mr. Katol, you made my night!!! hehehe
btw, this is not in any way sponsored by Baygon heheh I just had a happy experience with the product hehehe

Solo by Iyaz
by Bryan Inno Wong
Funny because this song was stuck in my mind for 2 days now. hehe Maybe because the beat was so catchy and the lyrics was quite cute. ehehe. Anyway, I just might have to post it here to give credit to the song that stayed on my mind for 2 days hehe.
I first heard this song when I rode a jeepney on my way home from work. It's good because my workplace is just a few minutes ride from our house and the length of travel was just enough to start the song and end it before I left the jeepney.
Well here it is, Solo by Iyaz, btw, I embeded a player from mp3-codes.com tolet you guys play the song while reading the lyrics. Good day to all!!!
I said I don't want to walk this earth if I gotta do it solo.
See girl we used to be a team
Runnin the streets (yeah)
We was living out our dream (ohh)
You used to be my rider
I was your provider
Now we separated in two
Oh we was burning up the block(yeah)
And everybody know when we step in the spot(ohh)
See, we was like the dynamic duo
Id never thought that you'd go, but you did uh, yeah you did
Oh baby you left and sailed away alone (Yeah, alone)
And now you got me trapped up on this island
Where nowhere to get home
And I don't wanna go, go
I don't wanna go, go
I don't want it no, no
I don't want it no, no
I don't want to walk this earth
If I gotta do it solo (solo)
Cuz I was so high
And now im so low
And I don't wanna walk around alone, solo
Said I don't want to walk this earth
If I gotta do it solo (solo, solo)
You was the beat on to my top line,
Put us together
And you'd have to hit rewind
See, you give me a purpose
Now I'm getting nervous
That my heart will never sing again
Oh, when we was runnin up the airways,
They knew us from the Virgin Islands to the U.K.
See, we was on the way to the platinum and gold
Never thought that you'd go but you did ya, ya you did.
Oh baby you left and sailed away alone (Yeah, alone)
And now you got me trapped up on this island
Where nowhere to get home
And I don't wanna go, go
I don't wanna go, go
I don't want it no, no
I don't want it no, no
I don't want to walk this earth
If I gotta do it solo (solo)
Cuz I was so high
And now im so low
And I don't wanna walk around alone, solo
Said I don't want to walk this earth
If I gotta do it solo (solo, solo)
I don't wanna walk S-O-L-O
(no no no)
I don't wanna walk S-O-L-O
"Oo uh oh,oh uh oh,
Oo uh oh oh oh uh oh,"
I don't wanna walk S-O-L-O
I don't wanna walk S-O-L-O
I don’t ever wanna let your love go
"Oo uh oh,oh uh oh,
Oo uh oh oh oh uh oh,"
I don't wanna walk S-O-L-O!!!!
And I don't wanna go,go
I don't wanna go, go
I don't want it no, no

Phoenix take 2-1 lead!!!! Suns vs Blazers Game 3.
by Bryan Inno WongDropping the first game at home, phoenix bounce back in game 2 and game 3 as the suns win 108-89!!!
Jason Richardson scored a playoff career-high 42 points and the Phoenix Suns dominated from the start in a 108-89 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night that gave them a 2-1 lead in their first-round series.
Jason Richardson continued his hot scoring streak hitting 8 three-pointers for the game. Steve Nash had a double-double with 13 points and 10 assists. And Amare Stoudemire added 20 points for phoenix.
For the blazers, there were some bright spots as they started several runs in the game that Phoenix led all the way. Rudy Fernandez came in ready to shoot 3-pointers with 4 threes in the game. Aldridge had 17 points and 7 rebounds.
I really think that the best move that coach Alvin Gentry did for the Suns is making Grant Hill and Jared Dudly guard Andre Miller as opposed to J-Rich guarding Miller in game 1. This obviously gave J-Rich more energy to spend in the offense rather than chasing after Miller in game 1. Also, Hill is stronger and a better defender and Miller cannot just simply overpower Hill in the post unlike any other guards.
Other results for today:
Game 3: Lakers VS Thunder : Oklahoma wins 96-101
Game 3: Celtics VS Bulls : Bulls win 106-108
